Farm-tastic Finds in Walworth County

Corn, crops, and countryside, oh my! Have you ever toured an apple orchard? Petted a goat? Enjoyed a hayride? Or watched a tractor harvest its crops? Well, get to Walworth County and experience all that and more.

You know you’re in the Midwest when the cornfields are endless and the pastures are sprinkled with rustic red barns and spotted cows. To deepen your understanding and strengthen your appreciation of the land and celebrate fall, Walworth County has the perfect spots to explore:

Apple Barn Orchard and Winery

Where can you find apple trees, a winery, and cinnamon sugar donuts? At Apple Barn Orchard and Winery of course. Yummy doesn’t begin to describe this extraordinary orchard experience. It’s not only a visual treat with a large orchard, but also a boutique country store loaded with goodies including housemad fruit wines, Wisconsin cheeses, jellies, and local honey. The drive is just minutes from the historic square of downtown Elkhorn. Open Fridays through Sundays, enjoy the apples, and the cooler fall temps at Apple Barn Orchard and Winery.

Pearce’s Farm Stand

Fall has arrived at Pearce’s Farm Stand! Experience your new favorite fall excursion at the best place for fall festivities, pumpkins, and the ever-popular corn maze! Just a short drive from Lake Geneva, this farm is in the heart of Walworth County! The most popular activity, besides navigating the u-pick pumpkin patch, is the corn maze. The zig-zagging adventure lets visitors explore the fields of the family farm. Pearce’s Farm Stand is extremely kid-and family-friendly with a giant slide, haybale climbing tower, and sweet treats no kiddo can resist. End your trip at Pearce’s Farm Stand munching on their homemade rhubarb bread, kettle corn, and caramel apples and, yes, even pumpkin donuts. This farm is a must-visit!

Royal Oak Farm Orchard

Get the best look at the countryside while learning about local growers and what it takes to supply and maintain successful crops at Royal Oak Farm Orchard. The u-pick apple orchard, located on the Wisconsin state line, offers family fun and entertainment in a beautiful 120 acre setting from mid-August through mid-November. With over 17,000 apple trees of 30 varieties to choose from the farm also produces pumpkins, gourds and winter squash, honey, and more of your favorite fruits and veggies. Take on the challenge of the country’s first apple tree maze, Amaze ‘N Apples, where you can wander through 1.5 miles of trails throughout the orchard. Kiddos can also play in the playground, ride the carousel, and meet barnyard animals at the petting zoo! Don’t forget to sample some world-famous apple cider!
