31 Days of Halloween: 2016 Edition

October is officially here, and that means it’s time for 31 DAYS OF HALLOWEEN!

If you love the frighteningly fun Halloween holiday, then you’ll love our list of hauntingly exciting things to do throughout the month to celebrate the quirky, and sometimes spooky, holiday. There are tricks and treats for all ages around the Lake Geneva area, so get ready to fill your calendar with oodles of spine-chilling activities for an eerily good time!

  1. Hear the Singing Pumpkins at Edgewater Park in Williams Bay. (Fridays & Saturdays through Oct. 29)
  2. “Watch your heads” on the Sleepy Hollow Haunted Hayride at Dan Patch Stables. (Fridays & Saturdays now through Oct. 29)
  3. Enter the world of the Sinister Siblings at the Twisted Realms Haunted House in Elkhorn. (Fridays & Saturdays now through Oct. 29, plus Oct. 31)
  4. o4. Get chills from stories of the local lore that surrounds Whitewater during their Spirit Tour. Stories like that of the Poison Widow and peeking into the crypt of Mary Worth will send shivers down your spine. (Oct. 8)
  5. Go if you dare…to the Haunted Trails at Scenic Ridge Campground in Whitewater. (Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays through Oct.)
  6. Be spooked at a Haunted Victorian Mansion at the Estate of Terror at Pearce’s Farm Stand in Walworth. (Fridays & Saturdays, Oct. 7 – Oct. 29)
  7. Learn the history of some of Lake Geneva’s historical families while walking the Oak Hill Cemetery, which was founded in 1880. (Oct. 8)
  8. Are you willing to withstand the horror? Shockwave Haunts at The Fuzzy Pig, in Whitewater, promises to a frightful scare. (Fridays & Saturdays through Oct. plus Oct. 27 & 30)
  9. Take a “ride” on the Haunted C&NW Railroad at the Lake Geneva Clue Room. Can you find the vampire before it’s too late? (daily through Oct.)
  10. Travel by lamplight across the grounds of Old World Wisconsin, where the legend of Count Dracula will come to life. (Oct. 14, 15 , 16, 21, 22, 23, 28)
  11. Embrace death like the Victorians did. Join Black Pointe Estate and the Lake Geneva Cruise Line for When Angels Carried Them Away: Death & Mourning in the Victorian Era (Oct. 15)
  12. Get into the Halloween spirit with wine and paint at Northleaf Winery’s Paint Like the Masters event. (Oct. 16)
  13. Sink your teeth into eerily fun crafts, games, snacks, and stories at the Aram Public Library’s Bunnicula Bash! (Oct. 17)
  14. Experience spooky Halloween Legends & Lore at Old World Wisconsin with ghost stories, enchanted circles, cackling witches, grave diggers, and whole host of other bizarre creatures, tales and treats. (Oct. 21, 22, 23, 28, 29, 30)
  15. Practice your aim at the Lake Geneva Canopy Tours with their 6th annual Pumpkin Drop! If you hit the bullseye, you win a prize. Fun for the whole family! (Oct. 22 & 23)
  16. Don your favorite Halloween costume and stretch your legs at Lake Lawn Resort’s Skeleton Scurry! (Oct. 22)
  17. Brace yourself for an afternoon of frightful family fun at the Scare on the Square in Elkhorn. (Oct. 22)
  18. You never know what you might find in the woods…Get ready for a Halloween Scare at the Darien EMS Haunted Trail at Wild Wood Park. (Oct. 22)
  19. It will be an afternoon of spooks and haunts in Lake Geneva Canopy Tours’ Haunted Woods! (Oct. 22 & 23)
  20. Join in on the ghost hunt at Geneva Lake Museum’s Paranormal Activity Around Geneva Lake. This Tuesdays @ Two event will introduce you to ghost hunters who will share their experiences in Lake Geneva. (Oct. 25)
  21. Bring your little ghouls in their costumes to local uptown businesses in Whitewater for a howling good time playing games and having treats for Ghouls Night Out. (Oct. 27)
  22. Sample beers and cheese at Brick Street Market’s Hoot N’ Howl Beer Tasting event. (Oct. 27)
  23. Prepare yourself for an evening of interactive fun at Lake Lawn Resort’s live theatrical production of “DRACULA”. (Oct. 27)
  24. Get ready to be Boo’d all weekend during William Bay’s Boo In The Bay event! (Oct. 28 & 29)
  25. For the ghouls and goblins who do not wish to be spooked, join friendly characters for an Enchanted Walk through the Kishwauketoe Nature Conservancy. (Oct. 28)
  26. Get dressed up and be ready for family fun at the Spook-tacular & Pumpkin Decorating event at Phoenix Park in Delavan. There will be a contest for both costumes and pumpkin decorating! (Oct. 28)
  27. Downtown Burlington will be full of spooks and entertainment with Spooky City day! There will be a costume parade, free hayrides, spooky crafts, and tons more family fun. (Oct. 28)
  28. For those of you looking for a little something scary to test your wits, the Spooky Walk at the Kishwauketoe Nature Conservancy will do the trick. (Oct. 28)
  29. Spooky fun will be riding your way this afternoon at The Legend of Sleepy Hollow at the Greenhill Center of the Arts – Barnett Theatre at UW-Whitewater when Ichabod Crane himself stops by for a visit. (Oct. 29)
  30. Have a spooktacular time with hay rides, face painting, clowns, snacks and treats at the Delavan Halloween Party! (Oct. 30)
  31. Celebrate Halloween with local Trick-or-Treat events throughout Walworth County. (Oct. 31)
