Foodie Friday: National Hamburger Month

We love May in Walworth County for so many reasons. One of the top reasons being National Hamburger Month. Hamburgers are like tradition throughout the Lake Geneva area, and you can sink your teeth into signature beef sandwiches at almost any local restaurant. Here are five sizzling places where you can satisfy your every burger craving.

1. Snug Harbor (Delavan)

Snug Harbor’s Jalapeno Burger will spice up your meal and perhaps even leave you wiping sweat from your brow.  This 1/2 lb., hand pattied burger is seasoned with a special blend of secret spices. Top it off with Jalapeno peppers and pepper jack cheese, and you’ll be digging into one fiery burger!

Sperinos PubPizzaBurger2. Sperinos (Elkhorn)

The Pub Pizza Burger is a made from 1/3 lb. of Sperino’s very own homemade Italian sausage. The patty is topped off with grilled onions and green peppers, fresh Mozzarella cheese, tomato basil sauce, and is served up on a toasted Brioche bun. Combining a hamburger with a pizza makes for one devilishly delicious burger.

SprechersCurdBurger3. Sprecher’s Restaurant & Pub (Lake Geneva)

Sprecher’s Curd Burger rings Wisconsin through and through! This fresh Angus Steakburger is topped with yellow and white cheese curds, onion straws, sauce made with Sprecher’s own Witty beer, and is encompassed in a toasted onion bun. Add your choice of a side, and you most definitely won’t be heading home hungry.

4. Hawk’s View Golf Club (Lake Geneva)

The Adobe Guacamole Burger from Hawk’s View was made famous at the 2015 Burger Throwdown event, and there’s no doubt why. This scrumptious southwest-style burger is smothered in adobe peppers, avocado, red onion, seasonings, cilantro, and Cheddar cheese on a toasted bun. You’ll be daydreaming of a place out west as you devour this tasty little treat.

Lookout Burger from Lake Lawn Resort5. The Lookout Bar & Eatery (Delavan)

The Lookout Burger at Lake Lawn Resort’s The Lookout is a finger-lickin’ good burger that has TWO 1/2 lb. Angus beef patties layered with Cheddar cheese, bacon and BBQ pulled pork on a warm potato roll. Add some natural cut steak fries and you’ll have a meal fit for a burger king. If all that deliciousness alone wasn’t good enough, you can even add a draft of Miller Lite for a buck to top it all off.

Which hamburger is the best, you ask? In all honesty, we have NO idea. We love our burgers like Carl loved Ellie, and we enjoyed every burger we ate, so you will have to be your own judge!
