Shop Local Saturday – JAYNE

Jayne_21-copyIt’s time for Shop Local Saturday again! This month we stopped by JAYNE in Lake Geneva. What did we find? Why, nothing but fabulous shoes and clothing in the latest trends, of course! We tried on a few fun things, perused all the latest fashions, fell in love with an outfit or two (or three, or four…), and spoke with the shop manager, Roger.

Q: How was the name chosen for the shop?
A:
Our name JAYNE was our owner’s Grandmother’s name – he had a special relationship with her.

Q: What makes JAYNE unique?
A:
JAYNE is unique because we are a footwear driven boutique.  So many women’s boutiques use footwear just for show or as an added item.  Not so with JAYNE.  Our footwear covers all categories from casual and beach to boots and dress, and our apparel will do the same.  And so, we see ourselves as an ageless adventure in shopping – something for most everyone.  And, we can’t forget to mention that we are the only Men’s shoe store in Lake Geneva with a great group of seasonal shoes, boots, and sandals for every season. Plus, we have Smartwool socks and a nice selection of seasonal apparel.

Jayne_BlogBoard_2-copyQ: What kind of items can we find in your store?
A:
We are always on trend in our clothing selections but it is very understandable and very affordable.  Our apparel runs the gamut from casual and every day to seasonal and dressy.  When it comes to footwear, there isn’t an important footwear line that we don’t carry in our stores.  From UGG and Birkenstock to Fly and Frye, we have always been able to pick the new trends and emerging shoe brands for our stores.

Q: If someone would like to visit Jayne, is there anything they should know before coming?
A:
You’ll want to have some time to shop – our selection in apparel is vast; our footwear covers so many categories that it takes time to look at them all; and our jewelry and accessories are always fun to look at.  You also need to make sure that the men know that they have a place to spend some time shopping for themselves, while their girlfriends or wives are spending time shopping.

Jayne_06-copyQ: What is the “must have” item from your store?
A:
In clothing our Must Haves this upcoming season, are print tunics paired with your favorite pair of skinnies or boyfriends.  Add a colorful cardigan and you’re ready for any day into night occasion.  For spring and summer sandals and shoes, wedges and platforms dominate the looks and companies like Chocolat Blu and Cordani will be featured.  At the same time, classic Birkenstock sandals are a look of their own and we have the largest selection you’ll find anywhere.

Q: What is your favorite part about being a local business in southeastern Wisconsin?
A:
When you are in a downtown location, you get to be part of the community, something you won’t get if we were in a mall.  We get to know a lot of the local people – we get to build relationships in the community with our employees who are local, with our neighbor businesses and with our local government.  In the end, I think we give value back to the town.

Jayne_BlogBoard_3-copyQ: What is YOUR personal favorite item from the store?
A:
Really don’t have a personal favorite item.  But in the footwear and clothing business, the beginning of every new season is always fun.  New product in different colors, textures, designs that the particular season brings, is always fun and exciting.  Our employees get pumped up, and that enthusiasm gets transferred to our customers.

Q: Are there any events/specials coming up at JAYNE?
A:
Coming in March, we will have a monthly drawing for a Private Party in our store – one winner every month!  With a purchase, you can enter to win an evening for 10 to 40 friends where we will serve wine and snacks and the Host will get a $50 gift card and their guests get 15% off all regular price merchandise.  It is a fun evening (see us for more details).  For all other events, follow us on Facebook and sign up for our email list.

Jayne_BlogBoard_4-copyQ: Do you offer shipping? Can people order online?
A:
We do offer free shipping for any purchase over $50, which is helpful to those visitors who come up just for the weekend.  We don’t currently have an online business for JAYNE as our website is set up for information only.  However, we do get a lot of phone orders from customers who had been in our store and wanted us to send them something they had seen when visiting.  Everyone should sign up for our Facebook page, as we are posting new items and opportunities for our customers almost daily.

Q: Where can we find JAYNE, and what are the shop hours?
A:
We’re growing!  Currently, in addition to Lake Geneva, JAYNE’s other stores are in Illinois in Highland Park, Forest Park, La Grange, and we will soon be opening another store in Chicago’s western suburbs. We are open all year long from 10 – 8 pm Monday through Saturday – longer than most every other store in town. Plus Sundays we open earlier at 10 am and close at 5pm.  A lot of hours to help our local shoppers!

Jayne_BlogBoard_1-copyIf you are loving what you see here, be sure to order one of our Snow Much Savings Coupon Books to SAVE at JAYNE! That’s right, there’s a coupon for $20 off any $100 purchase!
