Fish Fry Fridays 2014: March 7

Join us every week this Lent as we feature local restaurants in a mini-series on our blog called “Fish Fry Fridays.”  Walworth County is full of great places to eat – some you’ve heard of and some you haven’t!  If you have a place you’d like us to feature, comment below or give us a call at (262) 728-6000.

This week’s Fish Fry Friday takes us to three unique locations in Walworth County…The Verdict’s Inn in Genoa City, Evergreen Golf Club in Elkhorn, and Hawk’s View Golf Club in Lake Geneva.  We asked, and the restaurants answered!  Here’s the scoop on these local Fish Fry restaurants:

What does your fish fry include & what’s the cost?
Choice of 3 beer battered, deep-fried cod filets or 8 large butterfly shrimp – or a combo of 2 filets + 4 shrimp.
Includes fries, homemade slaw and a dinner roll…all for just $8.95!

What’s your hours for fish fry?
Fish Fry served on Fridays 12:00pm – 9:00pm.  Dine-in and carry-out available!

What makes your restaurant different?

What does your fish fry include & what’s the cost?
$11.95 per person includes fish, hand-cut french fries, corn fritters, cole slaw, potato pancakes, applesauce, and dinner rolls!
Fried fish is all-you-care-to-eat.  We have cod (either fried or broiled with clarified butter) and lake perch (fried).
The fried cod is served family style; all other entrees are plated – but sides are served family style.
Other dinner options/entrees available for the non-fish eaters in your family.

What’s your hours for fish fry?
Fish Fry is served 4:00pm – 9:00pm; “Early Bird” diners (before 5:30pm) will receive a $1 discount per dinner!

What makes your restaurant different?
“The difference is that everything is made in house.  Fish is breaded here, fries are cut here from whole potatoes, cole slaw and tartar are made in house with old German recipes.”  Check out the homemade difference at Evergreen Golf Club!

What does your fish fry include & what’s the cost?
We feature Icelandic cod – beer battered, Panko breaded, or baked…comes with your choice of homemade potato pancakes, corn fritters, or french fries, cole slaw, applesauce, and rye bread.  It is all you can eat – for $12 per person!
Along with the fish fry, we have a limited menu with burgers, sandwiches, baked walleye, salads, etc.
Reservations are not needed, but you can make them by calling us.
You can eat at the bar or we do have outdoor dining when/if the snow melts!
We serve family style for groups of 8 or more.

Fridays only, 4:00pm – 9:00pm

What makes your restaurant different?
“We make our own beer batter, potato pancakes and corn fritters.  Our Clam Chowder is to die for and we have a great Martini selection.  Our servers are informational and offer great service to our guests;”  come on out and try the Hawk’s View fish fry (and delicious clam chowder) tonight!
