Wine & Beer Dinners – Fall 2013

If you’ve read any of our previous posts, you probably know that Walworth County is home to many great chefs & restaurants.  Some of our favorite events to attend are the local beer/wine dinners!  My mouth is watering already from just looking at the menus…Here is a listing of some great dinners coming up in the next month:

Friday, October 18:  Wine Dinner at Geneva Inn’s Grandview Restaurant

Friday, October 25: Oktoberfest Beer Dinner at Hunt Club Steakhouse
What a great menu they have lined up for this dinner – $55 per person (tax not included):
First Course: Yukon Gold Potato Soup, Leeks, Parmesan Cheese, with Blonde Ale Mama’s Little Yella Pils
Second Course: Roasted Curry Scented Cauliflower, Smoked Pistachios, Dried Apricots, Mâche Greens, Buttermilk Yogurt Dressing, with Geneva Lake’s No Wake IPA
Third Course: Slow Roasted Kobe Beef Short Ribs, Roasted Shallots, Celery Root Purée, Fried Brussels Sprouts, with Kentucky Bourbon Ale

Friday, November 1: Leinenkugel Beer Dinner at Grand Geneva
Beer Lovers from across the Midwest are invited to a one-of-a-kind dining experience at Grand Geneva.  Join us Friday, November 1 as we welcome Richard “Dick” Leinenkugel of the famed family brewery for a five-course meal paired with beer from the Leinenkugel catalogue.  Reception begins at 6:30 in the Evergreen Ballroom followed by dinner at 7pm.

Sunday, November 10: Wine & Dine Pairing at Staller Estate Winery
For only $40 per person, you can get this great 4-course dinner with Black Sheep Restaurant & Staller Estate Winery…
Appetizer: Pumpkin bruschetta with smoked bacon, herbs and Parmesan Asiago blend
Soup: Lightly roasted turnip and curry soup
Salad: Cranberry, squash and turkey salad with house made squash-vinaigrette dressing
Entree: Chicken roulade of sun-dried tomatoes, bacon, spinach and goat cheese with herbs over root vegetable and potato mash
Dessert: Pumpkin Ice Cream with grilled pineapple and a Ruby Classico Port caramel sauce

Thursday, October 24: Hoot n Howl Beer Pairing in Delavan
Join the Downtown Delavan Business Association for an evening of beer tasting, food, live music, and an art show! Open to the public, admission is $40 and includes a commemorative tasting glass, unlimited tastings of beer from two dozen Midwest craft breweries. Guests can also sample specialty liquors and foods that pair well with beer and enjoy live music and photo booth pictures! Designated driver tickets are available for $10.00 and include unlimited gourmet soda, food sampling, entertainment and photo booth pictures. A raffle will take place with proceeds benefiting the Water Safety Patrol, which keeps Geneva Lake safe through lifeguarding, educational programs and boat patrol.beerandspirits
